First Aid with Rachel from Red Cross

Room 7 & 8 students are officially People Savers after completing a First Aid course on Monday! We completed lots of different hands on activities to practise skills that could be useful if we were ever faced with an emergency. We learnt about DRSABC(d) and what to do with burns, breaks and poisons. What useful tips do you remember?

Rio Olympics 2016!

We are all enjoying the watching and discussing the Olympic Games at the moment! We have heard some amazing stories of incredible athletes who push their limits and in doing so, inspire us to be our very best too. This clip was produced in support of the NZ Olympics team for this years Rio Olympics. Which NZ athletes can you spot training in this clip? What values do you think they would need to display in order for them to reach this level of skill? List your thoughts in the comments below...

Emily T's Paradise

My Paradise

Seagulls chirp boisterously flying over the bay.
Kids appreciate the fun they are having leaping around on the fresh grass.
Parents unwind on the decks of the beach houses in their snug bean bags.
Beach houses watch everyone have a great time in the water and out.
The grass screams “Ouch, ouch” as people dash across it having fun.
My new made friends and I explore above our beach house in the long grass.
Fresh, green, grass

Emma's Paradise

My Paradise

Calves moo loudly, hiding in the corners of the shed.
Spiders jump into action, crawling into the dark.
Sunlight shines through the dirty glass window.
Tiny bits of shattered bark fly pass me as the strong wind carry them away.
Leaves scatter over the damp ground making it very slippery.
The slightest wind whispers “Come and play with me…”
A family of calves block the entrance energetically as I try and rush my way in.
Hollow fences covered with moss holding the cows in.
Every second a new calf is being born.
Water slams down to the ground making big puddles to jump into.
Lush, quiet, enjoyable.
My paradise.
