#BacktheBlackCaps!!

With some super keen cricketers in Kahikatea, we are all pretty excited that the Black Caps are through to the World Cup finals! Getting through is already a pretty big deal, but imagine if they won!! Either way they are making history! The team needs all the support they can get so that's why we are proud to say we #BacktheBlackCaps!!!!!

Zentangle Art with Robbie

This is my fabulous Zentangle art. Zentangle art is when you use lots of different patterns inside shapes. We have been learning sketching skills such as thick and thin lines and shading. We are doing zentangle patterns in a speech bubble, which will be put with a photo and our poems.

Aongatete Camp 2015

The Year 5's had a fantastic time at Aongatete Camp! A few of the great things we did were bivouac and raft building, visiting Matakana Island to go fishing and play with the crabs, comparing an estuary to a stream, bush studies and sipping on billy tea with Mr Brown! One of the major highlights for many was learning different tricks and building confidence while kayaking and being dare devils on the Water Park at Waimarino! What an adventure!

2015 so far...

Here are just a few bits and pieces from the year so far.

Our All About Me bags were a hit and everyone was eager to see what one another had brought in to share with the class.

We got to learn some new netball skills with Aroha from Sport Waikato! We can't wait to play our new game of modified netball again

The school had a Freaky Hair Day and raised $700 to go towards Javon and his family.

We swam our little hearts out at Swimming Sports.. Good luck to those heading to Inter-Schools on Friday!

Everyone is working really hard in K7, so no doubt there will be lots more of our learning to share on here soon!

It's 2015... Watch this space!

Welcome back to our class blog...
We are well into the swing of 2015 and what a start it has been!! We have had so much on, with our Year 5's Aongatete Camp, Freaky Hair Day for Javon, Swimming Sports, Netball with Aroha from Sport Waikato and lots of other bits and pieces in between, which has kept us pretty busy! We LOVE it when our family and friends comment on the examples of Learning and Growing that we share on our blog, so keep an eye out for our updates!
Let's make it a super year!
