What happens to our waste?

We have placed a whole bunch of waste items in a tub, and buried it in soil.

How long do you think each of the below items will take to break down??

  1. I can't wait to find out how long it takes the waste to break down. I predict that the chip packet will take a year to break down, the glad wrap 5 months and the banana 7 months. I'm very excited to see if I'm right.

  2. I think the mandarin peel with breakdown the quickest - maybe 3 weeks. Next I think it would be the banana peel and apple core. The newspaper will melt away if it gets wet.

  3. I would like to see what would happen to the plants that you plant on the soil and to see if they will survive or they might die
