Over the last few weeks we have spent lots of time discussing how thousands of men went off to fight in World War 1 and why we now have ANZAC day every year to remember and honour all the brave soldiers that served our country at war. As you all know, it has now been 100 years since the battle that happened at Gallipoli landing in 1915. Thanks to Ella, we have some pictures to show you how we remembered the soldiers in Kahikatea 7.
We made poppies to put altogether in our class wreath
We held a small class service to lay our wreath before our special whole school assembly. Daniel and Summer read famous poems while we all remained silent and still.
We were also lucky to make ANZAC cookies.
Please comment below to tell describe what you thought about WW1 and what you learnt about ANZAC Day...
Yay! You added some more pictures to the blog I'm still wondering about that lost soldier. Ava told me on Anzac day when Annie was on her way to a dawn service and she was driving past our school when she saw the rose was gone and there was a candle by every cross. Do you no anything else about the lost soldier?
